INDIVIDUAL TUTORING (GRADES 1–12)

Every tutoring session is designed and delivered by qualified tutors who understand both the curriculum and how children learn. Our tutoring goes beyond homework help — it’s diagnostic, intentional, and goal-oriented. We assess where a student is today and create a roadmap for growth.

Subjects & Supports:

  • Phonetics, Reading, Writing
  • Mathematics (conceptual understanding, computation, and problem-solving)
  • Science & Social Studies
  • Study skills, organization, and test preparation

Our Individual Tutoring includes:

  • Curriculum-aligned instruction (Alberta K–12 outcomes)
  • Regular progress summaries and parent feedback
  • Research-based teaching practices and adaptive learning strategies

OPTION 1: PEER TUTORS - HIGH SCHOOL/UNIVERSITY TUTORS

OPTION 2: TEACHER TUTORS - CURRENT AND EXPERIENCED TEACHER

OPTION 2: TEACHER TUTORS - CURRENT AND EXPERIENCED TEACHER

Profile: Current High School/University students (Education, Math, English, or related fields). Have demonstrated academic excellence and passion for teaching. Trained in The Learning Lab’s instructional methods and diagnostic tools. 

Best For: Students needing homework help, test prep, or reinforcement of classroom learning.  Affordable support with relatable role models who recently mastered the same material.  

Focus Areas:  Foundational skill-building  Study skills and motivation.

OPTION 2: TEACHER TUTORS - CURRENT AND EXPERIENCED TEACHER

OPTION 2: TEACHER TUTORS - CURRENT AND EXPERIENCED TEACHER

OPTION 2: TEACHER TUTORS - CURRENT AND EXPERIENCED TEACHER

Profile: Certified K–12 teachers with 1–5 years of classroom experience. Skilled in lesson design, assessment, and differentiation. Familiar with current Alberta curriculum and learning strategies.  

Best For:  Students who need targeted academic growth and strategy instruction. Learners who benefit from a structured teaching approach and clear goals. 

Focus Areas: Reading and math intervention (UFLI, Science of Reading, numeracy strategies)  Executive functioning and organization.

OPTION 3: TEACHER INTERVENTION SPECIALIST

OPTION 2: TEACHER TUTORS - CURRENT AND EXPERIENCED TEACHER

OPTION 3: TEACHER INTERVENTION SPECIALIST

Profile: Teachers with 10+ years of classroom experience, often with graduate degrees (M.Ed., Ph.D.). Expertise in diagnostics, intervention design, and IPP/IEP development. Proven track record in literacy, numeracy, and cognitive development programs. 

Best For: Students with complex learning needs, IPPs, or persistent skill gaps. Parents seeking a comprehensive learning plan with progress tracking. 

Focus Areas: Reading and math intervention Executive functioning and metacognition. 

Often, students with this level of need are encouraged to explore our Targeted Supports Program, which will be a personalized learning support program.
